3,000 students and teachers at Namatala and Museveni Primary Schools in Uganda will now have clean water thanks to Axel Johnson and Drink Local Drink Tap!
Through crowdfunding and matching support from Axel Johnson, Inc., the U.S. and Uganda-based non-profit, Drink Local Drink Tap (DLDT), has started construction on a 200,000 liter underground rainwater harvesting system.
The project will collect rainwater from the schools, which will then be solar pumped to water towers and fed by gravity to taps around the buildings and new, safe toilets.
This project will help slow the spread of COVID-19, and DLDT is practicing extensive safety measures daily to ensure staff remain as safe as possible while making this project a reality.
